Hello Bakras! Welcome to aaj ki bakar.
Before taking you to the main agenda of this blog, allow me to introduce myself – I'm Richa, the new editorial and social media intern here at Bakarmax.
And this is my Pehla Pehla Blog! I submitted the first draft and the feedback I received from the creative GOATs here was “ismei thoda humour ka tadka and 1 Tbsp of Bakar mix kar ke lao!” Usually I'm all about dark humour, but lately life ke darkness ne mere humour ko overwhelm kar diya hai, so I’ll keep it light. (Let’s hope the GOATs are not too critical.)
Moving on to the cover story - our collaboration with Rang De. What's Rang De, you ask? Well, allow me to spill the beans.
India's first social investing platform, Rang De isn't your average lending platform. It's the superhero of financial services. Their goal? To provide fast and affordable loans to communities that banks usually ignore. Their aim is to attract folks who usually dabble in stocks and mutual funds and nudge them into thinking- "Maybe social investment is worth a shot!”.
For those wondering what social investment is - simply put, it is the use of repayable finance to help someone achieve a purpose affiliated with a social mission. To know more, click here.
We hope you got what it means now. Moving on.
If investing in a good social cause wasn't enough, Rang De has more in its menu. Well, for starters, you can dip your toes into social investing with just 100 bucks. You still think you can whip up an excuse not to invest here? Duh?! Plus, the transparency here is off the charts – every single penny you invest is accounted for.
Think about it guys: when you go all in with social investing, you're not just backing a business; you're giving someone the chance to build a better life and lift up their whole family and community.
Their track record is absolutely amazing. Thoda achha kaam karo, friends. Go ahead, visit the link, and start investing. Iss "mean world" mein survive karne ke liye good blessings bhi mil jaayengi!
How we came across Rang De is also an interesting story. Our great grand founder Sumit Kumar - who calls himself Lord, King, Emperor, Dictator- has been a long-time investor in Rang De. Some say it’s a secret recipe for cleansing his past sins. Either way, we figured we should pitch to them given we have someone very passionate about their work in our team.
They were nice enough to talk to us, and we got down to researching about the finance industry, social investing, and microfinancing. Our creative aatmas got a crash course on this world of social investing and we started brainstorming for some ideas.
Now, personally, I've seen some pretty dull investment ads, so boring that my average view duration wouldn't even reach 5 seconds. And, of course, we wanted to make nothing like that. We wanted something lively, quirky and for it to have a vibe of its own. And after a bunch of rejected ideas and a fair share of back-and-forth internally, our team hit the jackpot with the idea of ‘Naya Kya Hai’. If this were a regular blog, I'd quote Bo Bennett and say, "A rejection is nothing more than a necessary step in the pursuit of success!" But ugh! Humour kahan hai! (I can hear the GOATs screaming)
The film is really interesting and only 40 seconds long (we value your time) so hit that link and watch it right away.
And that's not all; we're gearing up to release our next film for Rang De soon. Keep checking our socials for more.
Okay, If you've stuck with us this far, I salute you.
It’s time to take a detour into the world of Bakarmax's other shenanigans.
